Collaged mandalas with fabric scraps, string and small items from the collection

During her residency Blair Bogin created astrological charts for objects in the Elsewhere collection. Bogin treats these objects as living subjects with intrinsic character traits and flaws. She chose items for Elsewhere staff and residents to instinctively identify a date, time and location of birth, and then created the charts based on their speculation and intuition. The charts take the form of fabric mandalas, where other objects are placed to represent the various astrological houses.
