Pepsi Mountain State Park | David Moré

Pepsi Mountain State Park is a video game study that combines images of distorted fragments from the museum’s environment into an alternate universe. The sound elements included in the study are a compilation of More’s experimental recordings over the course of his residency, produced through a variety of means — from playing back bits of fractured vinyl records to using contact and electomagnetic microphones. Upon its completion, he loaded the game onto a USB drive and pitched it into the first floor toybin inside of a plastic shark to await rediscovery.

This project was created as part of the Museum as Instrument curatorial initiative and funded in part by the North Carolina Arts Council.
