Musical Intercom System | Bridget Quinn

Quinn's Musical Intercom System connects the first floor bathroom to the 2nd floor Alone Zone via abstract instrumental communication. Quinn added a one-stringed instrument called a diddley bow to the Alone Zone, and a toy telephone to the bathroom. When played, each instrument sounds through speakers in both rooms simultaneously. At Elsewhere, the line between public and private space is blurred. The intercom inhabits this blurred territory and enhances the conundrum of shared privacy.
