Will Owen’s two projects, Singing Sink and 10 Minutes, revolve around the cyclical needs of living.10 Minutes is an hourglass made from broken collection glass. The form was created by Winston-Salem glass blowing studio Olio and sand made from crushed collection glass using rudimentary handmade tools. Set at 10 minute increments, it tracks time for Elsewhere's various administrative and event functions such as the weekly House Meeting and Power Hour Clean. In a living museum where projects are created from the collection material and then those projects are sometimes remade into even more projects, 10 Minutes represents this process in linear timekeeping device. Both pieces were presented at the public first Friday opening entitled "Time Sensitive." During which, Owen asked audience members for activities that could be done in 10-mins increments such as "shave someone else's legs" and "sign up to volunteer at somewhere meaningful to you."
