First LGBTQIAP+ event held for Greensboro youth supported by Guilford School Systems.

September 15, 2021 - Elsewhere, in Partnership with NCCJ Triad, Guilford County School Systems, and GSafe Greensboro, is hosting and LGBT+ safe space for youths and minors to have fun. DJ Katie.blvd (@katie.blvd on Instagram) will be spinning and refreshments will be served. Masks are mandatory.

This is the first public LGBTQ+ program partnering with Guilford County Schools. This event was the result of the work of Alyzza May, Elsewhere’s Creative Catalyst Fellow, and April Parker, Elsewhere’s Managing Director. This was also made possible by the Kenan Institute for the Arts, UNCSA  Tremaine Foundation who contributed to the creation of the Creative Catalyst Fellowship. Youth Workforce Development program and community development work are supported by Cemala Foundation.

A statement from Elsewhere Staff:

“We are committing to creating a safe way for our local queer and trans youths ages 13-18 to gather and celebrate Pride.”

The Dance Party will take place at Elsewhere Museum from 12 to 4pm on Sunday, September 19th 2021. For more information, you may contact April Parker.
