Wear and Tear | Kirsty Robertson
The risers of stairs that connect the 2nd and 3rd floors have been inscribed with floral patterns gleaned from the on-site tapestry collection and poetic fragments of language in antique scrawl. Created through a labor intensive subtractive process—etching away wood and paint- the work compliments and contributes to the signs of decay from the tread of countless feet across this passage over the years.
