The Phat Chair For Boizz | Jess Hirsch
August 10, 2011 – September 6, 2011
Phat Chair for Boizz is a situational weaving using broken furniture and ribbon from the collection. Jess applies her "folk feng shui" methodology to this play on Joseph Beuys' Fat Chair. Hirsch's work here channeled a Beuysian styled shamanism tempered with an innate simplicity of form and concept. She produced several small projects employing the environs of S. Elm Street, the Library at Elsewhere and the rooftop of our building.
