The fundraising benefit to save Greensboro's Black sanctuaries, an evening of dine-in, drive-in and virtual music experiences supported the the Historic Magnolia House, a featured spot of NC's Green Book, listed in 6 Editions of the Negro Travelers Guide.⁠

We want to thank everyone who made the night a success. From the volunteers and contributors to the artists, @demxmusic, @jtimbermusic, @debbie.theartist, and the @leroypridgenmusic quartet-- the community and the spirit of revolutionary love was in the air. We came together to collectively honor the Elders and Ancestors that came before us and embrace Black culture. Read Triad City Beat's recap here.⁠

The Historic Magnolia House, a NC Green Book site located in Greensboro, housed African American writers, actors, athletes and musicians as they traveled south during the Jim Crow era. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places and as a "Distinctive Destination" by the National Trust for Historic Places, this former motel was recognized and starred in 6 editions of The Green Book. Of the 300+ Green Book sites in the state of North Carolina, we are 1 of 4 still in existence. Within these walls embeds memories of James Brown playing in the street with neighborhood children, Joe Tex signing autographs on the front porch and moments captured with Ike & Tina Turner, Ray Charles, James Brown, James Baldwin, Sam Cooke, Jackie Robinson to name a few.
