Elsewhere is thrilled to announce the launch of tickets sales for GAME$HOW. Our third annual fundraising extravaganza on Saturday October 15th opens at 6pm for sponsors, and at 8pm for ticket holders. A party, participatory performance, and fundraiser all in one, Game$how will present a revelrous evening of live game shows re-interpreted from old classics – “Wheel of Fortunes,” "The Price is Right On," $10,000 Prism," "Extended Family Feud," “The Blind Dating Game,” and more. Shows will be complimented with treats from the most delicious restaurant in town, Table16, while the pre-game bar will offer Made-for-TV concoctions. Sets, prizes, and games designed and hosted by Elsewhere artists past and present will ensure everyone is a winner.
In the month leading up to the event, Elsewhere will be offering chances to win free tickets and Game$how merchandise all over town: engaging Elm street visitors with our 6 person bike surrey Ca$h Cab, spinning our artist-made Wheel of Fortunes at a variety of local venues and festivals, and collecting our neighborsʼ two cents for our Extended Family Feud “Survey-says” results. The weeks prior to the Fundraiser will be an ideal time to visit the space in action, as the Elsewhere team transforms the museum into a live game show set.
Game$how promises to be our busiest event of the year, with 200 high-demand tickets on sale online at and at the Elsewhere front desk (open Wed-Sat 1-10pm). Contestant Tickets start at $25 for artists, students, and members, $35 for individuals. A $45 includes a 2012 membership. Sponsor Tickets start at $100. This yearʼs fundraiser will do more than raise the $40,000 needed to support Elsewhereʼs 2012 operations-- Game$how will be a reunion for our artists, a celebration of Elsewhereʼs devoted members, funders, and sponsors, and a spectacular welcome to first time visitors from Greensboro and around the USA.
Elsewhere is a living museum set in a former thrift store, where 58 years of collected objects provide the materials and inspiration for collaborative art-making. With events every Friday night, educational Playshops every Saturday afternoon, and an international residency program hosting 35 artists a year, Elsewhere brings participatory public culture to South Elm Street and international recognition to our growing city.
