Delicate textured paper cuts that refer to snake skin, tree bark and the crystalline structures of the inorganic world. Soft looming tree-form. Gem-like glowing pendants. The permeation of blue light that refracts across walls lined with mirrors. These are the means by which Ashley Yeo transforms the Glass Forest installation on the 2nd floor of the museum created by Augustina Woodgate in 2010 into a tranquil otherworldly oasis.

Ashley Yeo Yakka creates work that reflects on the nature of being and existence. The personal effort of making her works has become her methodology in an attempt to repossess what she feels is becoming less visible in the human condition. Recent works explore the idea of slowness and work with ideas of creating depth and curiosity. Ashley recently completed her MA Fine Art at Chelsea College of Art & Design in London.
