3 Sisters: SustainABLE | Lani Ascuncion

Lani Ascuncion’s SustainABLE is a video work that weaves a new version of the Native American myth of the agricultural interdependence between three sisters: corn, beans, and squash. Shot at organic farms in central North Carolina, it features actors, props and costumes from Elsewhere. The video is part of a series that Ascunsion began as a means to explore complex sibling relationships.

Ascuncion inserted the story into the America’s Garden book in Elsewhere’s library. Look for a big green book when you visit next. (see image below)

A dinner was held at the museum, where the story was read and the film was screened.
